About Me

I consider myself to be a very spiritual person and have always loved singing and writing. I regularly sing in choirs at different churches. Because of my passion for music, I decided to become an independent artist.

My Background

I am an independent national recording artist and songwriter born in Shelby, Mississippi and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I have been singing and writing since I was very young. To this day, I am the Worship Leader at The Multitude of Christ

Ministry, Inc. in Canton, Texas led by my husband Pastor Johnny W. Luter II. As La La Musiq, I have written gospel songs and appeared in music videos for various local churches in the Dallas, Texas area. Although I am based in Dallas, I perform nationally. My debut album "Set Apart" has been recognized by The International Singer Songwriters Association which also includes winning the The 2020 ISSA Female Emerging Artist of The Year Award! In August 2021, I released my sophomore album "The Awakening" and it has also been recognized by The International Singer Songwriters Association which includes winning the 2022 ISSA Female Emerging Artist of The Year Award. My 2022 collaboration single "Sistar" with Zemira Israel is an official GRAMMY®︎ balloted single that was in nomination consideration for "Song of The Year" and "Record of The Year". Additional awards that I have won include, 2021 Sounds of DFW Bop Song of The Year Award for my single "Warrior"; 2022 World Music Awards Inspirational Song of The Year for my single "Warrior"; 2022 Indie Songwriters Awards for Best Duo for my collaboration single "Sistar" with Zemira Israel; January 2023 Akademia Music Award for Best Christian / Gospel Song for my single "He's My Rock"; and selected to be November Artist of The Month for The 2023 Indie Gospel Calendar by Paul Puckett publications.  I am currently a 3x Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards finalist, 7x Vocal Gospel Music Awards nominee, and a 5x Gospel Music Awards nominee for 2023. I am a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) and ISSA (International Singer-Songwriter Association), and ETGMP (East Texas Gospel Music Professionals).
